Bathroom vanaties are pieces of furniture that combine a sink, countertop, and mirror. Today, many models include lights, architectural styling details, and built-in shelves. Vanities are an integral part of any bathroom installation. Before indoor plumbing, vanity tables were generally housed in a bed chamber. In this way, people could easily wash their faces and hands at night without having to get out of bed. Nevertheless, vanities have undergone significant changes over the years, and the classic versions still exist today.

Vanity tables originally occupied the bedroom, but most of these days, they are located in a separate bathroom. A few interior designers are experimenting with placing a free-standing bathtub in a bedroom, often without a dividing wall. This option harkens back to a simpler time before plumbing, but with a modern twist. A vanity is a great addition to any bathroom. It makes getting ready in the morning that much easier.

If you want to go for an eco-friendly option, consider a wooden vanity. The natural look and feel of wood is appealing, but wood is a costly material and may warp in a humid area. For less expensive options, you can also choose to buy a cabinet that is constructed from Medium Density Fiberboard. Typically, MDF is covered with a laminate finish, which is resistant to water and easy to clean.
